Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I'm Matthew, a photographer based in Baltimore, MD. I grew up just outside of Annapolis, MD where My mother taught me the basics of photography at a young age. I originally had plans to be a 3D animator and worked several warehouse jobs to put myself through school. But after realizing how much time would be spent sitting at a computer a career change was made. After 11 years as the staff photographer for Tamarain Carpets and countless side gigs, I started my own company, That Baltimore Photographer.
I'm also very active in the local photography community around Baltimore. I can often be found at film meet-ups or judging photography competitions held by the various camera clubs throughout Maryland. This community connection is one of my favorite aspects of being a photographer as I'm so often surprised by the creativity and determination of my fellow photon hoarders.
